The next season was met with a greater understanding of what is involved not only to create a successful robot, but to be a successful team. For this season, 2003, the object of the game focused on storage bins, rather than the balls of previous years. While the functionality of the robot was relatively simple, the team became tempted by complexity, especially given that for the first time, an autonomous mode was introduced. When shipping time came around, a reasonably assembled and functional robot was packaged and sent on its way. However, at the regional a number of issues were discovered, resulting in dramatic changes to the structure of the robot yet again (reminiscent of the 2000 season). While the team did make it to the quarterfinal rounds, luck was not with them yet again. Without qualifying, the Nonnebots were unable to attend the national competition. But the story will not end here. The most valuable thing gained from any outcome is experience.
Another season is upon us now in 2004, and yet again we learn from the past and push forward into our future.
